What Esther Hicks taught me about the art of allowing and why everything you desire is already on its way.

Last weekend, I did something that’s been on my manifestation list. I went to the Esther Hicks (Abraham-Hicks) Workshop in Austin with my Coach, Keren Eldad. And let me tell you, friend, it cracked something open.
It made me even more excited about Code Blue Coaching, and bringing new principles to each of you. There’s something electric about being in a room full of people who believe that joy isn’t a luxury, it’s the path. That abundance isn’t a reward, it’s your birthright.
I went in curious. I left changed.

The Two Ends of the Stick
Esther opened with a simple but transformative idea: every desire has two ends: what you want and the absence of it.
Both have to exist. You can imagine them on different ends of a stick. The contrast is what helps you clarify the dream.
But your job is to decide which end you’re going to hold onto. Which one you choose to focus on.
When you’re thinking about what’s missing, the past, or the villain in your story, you’re activating resistance. When you focus on what’s coming, your future, or creating anything you desire, you’re tuning to its frequency. This will bring about feelings of passion, excitement, gratitude.
It reminded me of what I teach every day in The Evolved Method: your energy follows your attention.
As Esther said, “When you focus on what you want, it flows to you. When you focus on what you don’t want, it also flows, just in a different direction. It’s leading you to the opposite end of the stick.”
Literally, giving you what you say you don't want. By letting your thoughts focus on being annoyed, victimized or living in the past. You recreate the same result that you claim wasn't your intentioned outcome. Mind. Blown.
And isn’t that the ultimate mirror for our veterinary world? You are trained to fix, control, and prevent the bad, but in that constant vigilance, You can accidentally tune our frequency to scarcity.
The moment you shift your focus on what you do want, ease, joy, connection, alignment, the universe can finally deliver it.
Quick Tips to Get You to the Right End of Your Stick
The Emotional Guidance Scale: Emotions aren’t random. They’re data.
Esther teaches that feelings are your vibrational GPS, showing whether you’re moving toward or away from alignment.
You don’t have to leap from fear to bliss. Just reach for a slightly better-feeling thought: fear → frustration → hope → joy.
That’s vibrational progress. And neuroscience agrees, each incremental shift releases dopamine, calming the limbic system and creating the biochemistry of safety and trust.
So the next time you feel anxious or stuck, don’t force positivity. Just reach for relief. This will get you back to the aligned side of your stick.
The Vortex: Esther describes The Vortex as the vibrational space where everything you’ve ever asked for already exists.
When you feel joy, appreciation, or love, you’re in The Vortex.
Psychology calls it flow state.
Neuroscience calls it coherence.
Spirit calls it alignment.
They’re all describing the same thing, that moment when time disappears, your nervous system is regulated, and you’re fully connected to the present.
When you’re in The Vortex, you’re not chasing. You’re magnetizing. Your on the right side of the stick.
Contrast Creates Clarity: Esther says contrast isn’t punishment, it’s precision. It shows you which side of the stick you are on. Every challenge shows you what you don’t want, and in doing so, refines what you do want.
So instead of labeling contrast as “bad,” you can bless it. That difficult client, that missed opportunity, that heartbreak, it’s just the universe helping you sharpen your clarity for what is really calling to you.
The Art of Allowing: This was my biggest takeaway, allowing is true surrender.
It’s the space between the desire and its arrival. Honestly, it’s where most of us lose our peace. We think we have to hustle, control, complain, criticize or “make it happen.” But that’s force energy. Allowing says: “It’s already done. I just have to stay open long enough to receive it.”
It’s surrender with confidence, calm and faith, not apathy. It’s believing that what you want is on its way, and your only job is to enjoy the journey.
So, What Does This Mean for Us?
As veterinarians, leaders, and healers, we are constantly surrounded by contrast: life and death, pressure and purpose, exhaustion and meaning.
But what if all of that contrast isn’t a sign that something’s gone wrong, what if it’s the invitation to reach for alignment?
You get to decide which end of the stick you hold.
You get to decide what story your energy tells.
And you get to have fun while you wait for the evidence of what you desire appears.
Because when you feel good, you become magnetic. There is no way your destiny come when you're focused on the right end of the stick.
So the next time you catch yourself holding the wrong end of the stick, smile and say, “I’m pivoting toward what feels better.” That single thought shifts your energy, your thoughts, and your entire life.
